There are a variety of materials for edge banding, each with its own unique advantages and application scenarios. The following are five common edge sealing materials and their characteristics:
PVC edge strip
Main ingredients: polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride, made by mechanical pressing.
Features: Can show wood grain, two-color, plain and other plastic materials, heat resistance, oil resistance, wear resistance, strength and hardness are very high, very durable.
Application: Widely used in all kinds of furniture and decoration.
ABS edge sealing strip
Features: No calcium carbonate, smooth and transparent, not white, high-grade texture.
Application: Often used in high-end furniture and decoration.
Wooden edging strip
Features: Natural wood texture, soft and not easy to deform, strong adhesion, integrated with wooden furniture.
Application: Mainly suitable for veneer furniture.
Melamine sealing strip
Main ingredients: colored paper, commonly known as paper edge sealing.
Features: easy to stick, not easy to expand and deform, but more brittle and easy to fold, not wear-resistant, easy to damage in handling.
Application: It is often used in some occasions that require quick bonding.
Metal banding
Features: simple and practical, oil and wear-resistant, long service life.
Application: Suitable for some occasions that need to bear heavy objects, but it may not be beautiful to match.

Hand edge banding
It is used by woodworker to make furniture on the spot, which is simple but less efficient.
EVA banding
The use of EVA hot melt adhesive, compared with manual edge sealing has improved, but the heat resistance is poor, easy to fall off, and the amount of glue is large.
PUR banding
PUR hot melt adhesive, odorless, heat, cold, water vapor resistance, environmental protection and stability. Small amount of glue, thin glue line, is the most widely used mainstream technology. However, the processing environment and equipment requirements are higher.
Laser edge sealing
Seamless edge sealing, can not see the glue line, is the latest and most environmentally friendly technology. The laser device is used to melt the coating layer quickly, and then the press wheel compacts the sealing band to complete the edge sealing. Advanced technology but not fully mature, low market popularity, high cost.
